There was no surprise when 6th ranked Talje Knights (3-8) were outleveled on the road by second ranked Eskilstuna (9-1) 83-62 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Eskilstuna. Talje Knights was better in fourth quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eskilstuna dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Talje Knights' 32. Eskilstuna forced 19 Talje Knights turnovers and outrebounded them 54-32 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Eskilstuna looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Hannes Widell (183-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. Forward Ludvig Swanstrom (195-96) replied with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Daniel Ehrencrona (-96) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Talje Knights. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eskilstuna have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in BEHS forts with 9-1 record behind leader IK Eos. Talje Knights lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Eskilstuna will face Helsingborg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Talje Knights will play against Hoganas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
