Second Stage Round 4: IK Eos - Hoganas 98-91

Everything went according to plan when first ranked IK Eos (10-1) defeated 8th ranked Hoganas (2-9) in Lund 98-91 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hoganas won third quarter 32-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IK Eos forced 21 Hoganas turnovers and had a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Olle Karlsson (193-96) contributed with 23 points for the winners. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American point guard Dwight Bankhead (181-83) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Hoganas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. IK Eos have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in BEHS forts with 10-1 record. Loser Hoganas keep the eighth place with nine games lost. IK Eos will face RIG Mark (#6) in Kinna in the next round where they are favorite. Hoganas will play at home against Talje Knights and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
