Rather expected game in Rio where 5th ranked Santiago (3-4) was defeated by second ranked Pinar (6-1) 79-67 on Thursday. Strangely Santiago outrebounded Pinar 29-16. The former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) fired 28 points and 6 steals for the winners. The former international center Elieser Quintana (205-91) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Julio Heredia (183-93) produced 22 points and 5 assists and guard Roigelis Ochoa (190-93) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pinar maintains second place with 6-1 record behind leader Villa Clara. Santiago at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Matanzas.
