Regular Season Round 7: Villa Clara - Matanzas 98-85

LSB top team - Villa Clara (7-0) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Guerreros (3-4) in Santa Clara 98-85. The game was mostly controlled by Villa Clara. Guerreros managed to win second period 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Villa Clara shot 63.6 percent from the field. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Andy Boffil (190-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!) (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Guard Neslier Abreu (187-93) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Lazro Sanchez responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Danys Torrientes (190-85) scored 19 points and 6 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Guerreros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa Clara have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Guerreros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Santiago.
