Regular Season Round 32: Quimsa - Argentino 78-56
Date: February 9, 2017
There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Quimsa (16-14) crushed 6th ranked Argentino (14-18) in Santiado Estero 78-56 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimsa. Argentino was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Forward Jazwin Cowan (203-83, college: Hampton, agency: DTMones) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Cowan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Argentino. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-14 record which they share with defeated Argentino. Argentino lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Quimsa will face higher ranked Instituto (#3) in Cordoba in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
