Regular Season Round 25: Union SF - SP Las Parejas 91-65

Date: February 9, 2017
No shocking result in a game in Santa Fe where first ranked Union SF (19-5) outleveled 6th ranked Sportivo (6-19) 91-65 on Thursday. Union SF forced 21 Sportivo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Sportivo's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Union SF made 7 blocks. Forward Patricio Tabarez (195-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks for the winners and center Fernando Podesta (205-92) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Manuel Olocco (198-88) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Agustin Pautasso (192-97) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Union SF and four Sportivo players scored in double figures. Union SF have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-5 record. Sportivo lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 19 games lost. Union SF will face league's second-placed Comunicaciones in Mercedes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sportivo will play on the road against the league's leader Hindu (#1) in Chaco and hope to win that game.
