Regular Season Round 19: Torrelodones - Real Canoe 64-67

Fourteenth-ranked Torrelodones (3-14) gave a tough game to first ranked Real Canoe (16-3) in Madrid on Thursday. The visitors managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But Torrelodones won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian center Almir Hadzisehovic (203-92, college: Alaska-Fairb.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and forward Ruben Portes (192-81) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Real Canoe maintains first place in Group B with 16-3 record. Torrelodones lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Real Canoe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Estudiantes B.
