Regular Season Round 18: HNMKY U23 - TuNMKY 70-91

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked HNMKY U23 (8-13) was outscored by first ranked TuNMKY (17-4) in Helsinki 91-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by TuNMKY. HNMKY U23 was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TuNMKY looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by HNMKY U23's players. It was a good game for center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 4 assists. Forward Tomi Lommi (193-96) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five TuNMKY players scored in double figures. Center Petteri Ruutiainen (207-95) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jyri Eboreime (185-98) added 12 points in the effort for HNMKY U23. HNMKY U23's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. TuNMKY maintains first position in Division with 17-4 record. Loser HNMKY U23 keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. TuNMKY will face JyWe (#12) in Jyvaskyla in the next round which should be another easy win for them. HNMKY U23 will play at home against Korikouvot (#4) and hope to win that game.
