Regular Season Round 25: Tsmoki II - Brest 93-77

Date: February 10, 2017
There was no surprise in Minsk where 8th ranked Brest (4-17) was defeated by third ranked Tsmoki II (14-7) 93-77. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki II. Brest was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki II dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Brest's 36. Tsmoki II forced 24 Brest turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Maksim Liutych (200-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Timofey Porolev (202-97) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Tsmoki II's coach Heorhi Kandrusevich used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Sergey Moshko (185-90) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Pavel Moroz (193-88) added 15 points in the effort for Brest. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tsmoki II maintains third place with 14-7 record having ten points less than leader Grodno-93. Newly promoted Brest keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Tsmoki II will again play against Brest (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Brest will have a break next round.
