Regular Season Round 37: Tokyo Z - Gunma 60-69

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Gunma (24-12) won against on the road 3rd placed Tokyo Z (16-21) 69-60 on Friday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. Gunma made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Shimon Takayama (180-90) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma maintains first place with 24-12 record. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the third position with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
