Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Palencia Baloncesto (16-7) beat at home 14th ranked CB Prat (9-14) 88-77 on Friday. The game without a history. Palencia Baloncesto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Palencia Baloncesto dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to CB Prat's 36. They outrebounded CB Prat 39-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Gabas Maldunas (206-93, college: Dartmouth) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Palencia Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Palencia Baloncesto's coach Sergio Garcia Martin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Pep Ortega (201-84) responded with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Alex Ros (193-83) scored 20 points. Palencia Baloncesto keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. CB Prat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 14 games lost.
