Regular Season Round 23: Forca Lleida - Oviedo 70-68

There was a change at the LEB Gold leadership position after last games. Round 23 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Oviedo CB (16-7). They were edged by tenth ranked Lleida Basquet (13-10) 70-68 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 21-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Senegalese center Papa Mbaye (209-90) helped adding 11 points. Point guard Fabio Santana (188-92, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 11 points and center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ourense. Oviedo CB at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Burgos who have the same record. Oviedo CB will play next round against Leche Rio Breogan trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lleida Basquet will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked CB Prat on the road.
