Regular Season Round 34: Qingdao E. - Sichuan BW 100-101

A very interesting game took place in Qingdao. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 12th ranked Qingdao Eagles (15-19) to ninth ranked Sichuan BW (19-15) 101-100 on Friday evening. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice, agency: Stealth Sport) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) supported him with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) did not help to save the game for Qingdao Eagles. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qingdao Eagles' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Beijing D. Qingdao Eagles lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Sichuan BW's next round opponent will be Bayi Rockets (#19) in Ningbo which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against the league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
