Regular Season Round 19: Mollet - Castelldefels 89-73

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Castelldefels (4-12) was defeated on the road by first ranked Mollet (13-3) 89-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mollet. Castelldefels was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for power forward Ramon Espuna (206-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Albert Ferrer (180-82) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Andreu Sese responded with 17 points and 5 assists and forward Jordi Boronat (-85) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Mollet. They maintain first place in Group C-B with 13-3 record, which they share with Quart. Castelldefels lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Mollet will face Barbera (#4) in Barcelona in the next round. Castelldefels will play at home against Sant Adria (#5) and hope to win that game.
