Regular Season Round 19: Trefl Sopot - Torun 94-62

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Twarde Pierniki (15-5) against eleventh ranked Trefl (10-11) on Saturday night. Visiting Twarde Pierniki was crushed by Trefl in Sopot 94-62. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. The former international Filip Dylewicz (202-80) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. American guard Kyle Weaver (198-86, college: Washington St.) came up with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Twarde Pierniki in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Trefl went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Loser Twarde Pierniki keeps the second place with five games lost. Trefl will meet higher ranked PGE Turow (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Twarde Pierniki will play against Stabill (#17) and hope to secure a win.
