Regular Season Round 20: Campo Mourao - Vasco Da G. 77-82

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Vasco Da G. (11-8) beat on the road 9th ranked Campo Mourao (11-8) 82-77. The winners were led by the former international power forward Murilo Becker (211-83) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Welington Dos-Santos (185-81) supported him with 19 points and 5 assists. Four Vasco Da G. players scored in double figures. Vasco Da G.'s coach Dede Barbosa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by Vinicius Oliveira (200-90) did not help to save the game for Campo Mourao. The former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) added 19 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Vasco Da G. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Campo Mourao. Vasco Da G. will play against SKY/Basquete (#12) in Aldeota in the next round where they are favorite. Campo Mourao will play on the road against the league's second-placed Flamengo (#2) in Rio de Janeiro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
