Regular Season Round 37: Toyotsu FE - Aomori Watts 85-75

There was no surprise in Nagoya where 4th placed Aomori Watts (15-20) were defeated by first ranked Toyotsu FE (26-9) 85-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 28-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Aomori Watts were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds for the winners and American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) chipped in 27 points. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyotsu FE maintains first place with 26-9 record. Aomori Watts lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 20 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Aomori Watts (#4) at home in the next round.
