Second Stage Round 4: Okzetpes - Kaspiy-2 107-59

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Kaspiy-2 (0-10) was outscored by seventh ranked Okzetpes (6-4) in Kokshetau 107-59 on Saturday. Okzetpes dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Kaspiy-2's 46. Okzetpes forced 20 Kaspiy-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-26 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Kaspiy-2's players. Kaspiy-2 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Vladimir Ivanov (203-94) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 8 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). Forward Vladislav Strikhan (196-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Bogdan Ivanchikin (175-0) replied with 23 points and 5 steals and point guard Dmitry Muhin (172-0) added 20 points and 7 steals in the effort for Kaspiy-2. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okzetpes maintains seventh position with 6-4 record, which they share with Tigers Ast. Loser Kaspiy-2 still closes the standings with ten games lost. Okzetpes will face Irtysh (#9) in Pavlodar in the next round. Kaspiy-2 will play on the road against Tigers Ast. in Astana and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
