Regular Season Round 37: Yamagata - Shinshu BW 85-81

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Shinshu BW (10-26) was defeated on the road by third ranked Yamagata (18-17) 85-81 on Saturday. Shinshu BW was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Yamagata dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 36. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Yuta Kojima (192-83) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Dutch power forward Jeroen van-der-List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Yamagata maintains third place with 18-17 record having eight points less than leader Gunma. Shinshu BW lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 26 games lost. Yamagata will face again Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round.
