Regular Season Round 17: Roannais - Limoges 69-55

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Roannais and 13th ranked Limoges had identical 4-12 record. This time Roannais used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Limoges 69-55 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Roannais. Limoges managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Roannais forced 19 Limoges turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Limoges' players. Argentinian power forward Agostina Burani (184-91) stepped up and scored 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Amandine Toi (179-98) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Point guard Tiphaine Melois (170-94) responded with 18 points and U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Newly promoted Roannais maintains twelfth place with 5-12 record. Limoges lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Roannais will meet higher ranked Aulnoye (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limoges will play against Toulouse and hope to secure a win.
