Regular Season Round 23: Gries/Oberhoffen - RAC Basket 100-73

There was an upset in Bischwiller where 4th placed Rueil (15-8) was rolled over by thirteenth ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (10-13) 100-73 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gries/Oberhoffen. Rueil was better in second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gries/Oberhoffen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Power forward Rony Delar (206-82) helped adding 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Coach Ludovic Pouillart's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Yohan Solle (205-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Gries/Oberhoffen moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Rueil keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will face higher ranked Vitre (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rueil will play against GET Vosges (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
