Regular Season Round 26: GOCOR-Sozh - Grodno-93 67-96

Premier League top team - Grodno-93 (23-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked GOCOR-Sozh (3-19) in Gomel 96-67. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. GOCOR-Sozh was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by GOCOR-Sozh's players. The former international center Yuri Mishukov (205-85) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (200-87) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Point guard Ilya Scherba (176-95) responded with a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and swingman Evgeniy Rybkin (195-96) scored 22 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Grodno-93 have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-1 record. GOCOR-Sozh lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Grodno-93 will play against Vitebsk (#4) on the road in the next round. GOCOR-Sozh will play against Tsmoki II (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
