Regular Season Round 23: SAP Vaucluse - Chartres 90-72

There was a surprise result in Sorgues where fifteenth ranked SAP Vaucluse (10-13) defeated higher ranked UB Chartres (10-13) 90-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SAP Vaucluse. UB Chartres was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UB Chartres to just 7 points in third quarter. SAP Vaucluse made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Mali power forward Cheick Soumaoro (204-90) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Kevin Bichard (195-86) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jeremy Ricard (200-94) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SAP Vaucluse moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated UB Chartres. UB Chartres lost their fifth game in a row. SAP Vaucluse will face higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
