There was no surprise in Gorzow Wlkp. where 9th ranked JAS FBG (6-12) was crushed by third ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (13-5) 86-63. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to JAS FBG's 32. They outrebounded JAS FBG 45-26 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and Australian guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) supported her with 17 points and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points, 10 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for JAS FBG. Marta Dobrowolska (181-89, agency: Promotex) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski maintains third position with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Sleza Wroclaw, which they share with Energa Torun. JAS FBG lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski's next round opponent will be MKK Siedlce (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game. JAS FBG will play against Artego Bydg. and hope to win that game.
