The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked San Lorenzo (24-8) in Buenos Aires on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Boca Juniors (9-24) 73-60. Power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was international forward Gabriel Deck (199-95) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Boca Juniors maintains tenth place with 9-24 record. Defending champion San Lorenzo still keeps top position with eight games lost. Boca Juniors are looking forward to face higher ranked Olimpico de La Banda (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play against Libertad Sunchales (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
