Second Stage Round 9: BrGU - Gorizont II 62-60

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Premier League took place in Brest. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Gorizont II (5-15) to eighth ranked BrGU COR Victoria (3-19) 62-60 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gorizont II won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BrGU COR Victoria won last quarter 15-14. BrGU COR Victoria had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Maria Rafalovich (164-1) stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 steals for the winners and Diana Tolochko (177-96) chipped in 6 points and 15 rebounds. BrGU COR Victoria's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Darya Semiletnikova (-1) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and forward Daryna Bachkarova (182-0) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. BrGU COR Victoria maintains eighth place with 3-19 record. Gorizont II lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. BrGU COR Victoria will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorizont II will play at home against Polotsk (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
