Second Stage Round 4: Alvik Basket - Koping 68-97

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Alvik Basket (0-7) was smashed by fourth ranked Koping (4-3) in Bromma 97-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Koping. Alvik Basket was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Koping dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Alvik Basket's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for the former international swingman Sean Smith (198-87, college: NC-Asheville) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Ronnie Boggs (192-91, college: Jacksonville St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Koping players scored in double figures. Forward Richard Hartmann (203-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jacob Johansson (195-95) added 10 points in the effort for Alvik Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Koping moved-up to third place in Superettan. Loser Alvik Basket still closes the standings with seven games lost. Koping will face league's second-placed AIK in Solna in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alvik Basket will play at home against Trelleborg (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
