We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when T71 (12-7) beat Etzella (12-7) in Ettelbruck 78-69 on Sunday. Etzella was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Etzella 50-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) added 22 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Etzella. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Etzella's coach Jan Enjebo tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. T71 will face Contern (#5) in Luxembourg in the next round. Etzella will play on the road against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
