Rather expected game when 14th ranked Viola RC (6-15) lost to eleventh ranked Novipiu Casale (10-11) in Reggio Calabria 60-67 on Sunday. It was a good game for American forward Jordan Tolbert (201-92, college: SMU) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international guard Brett Blizzard (191-80, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Novipiu Casale's coach Marco Ramondino used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Lorenzo Caroti (185-97, agency: Players Group) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Viola RC. Four Viola RC players scored in double figures. Novipiu Casale moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Viola RC dropped to the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Novipiu Casale will face higher ranked Agrigento (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Viola RC will play against Rieti (#12) and hope to win that game.
