Regular Season Round 19: Sant Nicolau - Salt 63-72

Everything went according to plan in Sabadell where sixth ranked Salt (9-6) beat 12th ranked Sant Nicolau (5-11) 72-63 on Sunday. Sant Nicolau trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 17-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-72 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for point guard Xavier Torrent (176-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Center Xavier Montalat (202-92) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) responded with 11 points and 5 assists and point guard Albert Cadafalch (181-89) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Salt. They moved-up to fifth place in Group C-A. Loser Sant Nicolau keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Salt will face Arenys (#6) in Arenys del Mar in the next round. Sant Nicolau will play on the road against the league's second-placed Martorell (#2) and hope to win that game.
