Regular Season Round 21: Unicaja - Real Madrid 82-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Real Madrid (15-4) on the court of sixth ranked Unicaja Malaga on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Unicaja Malaga 82-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Real Madrid. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-78. Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Jeffrey Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and international Sergio Llull (190-87) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga maintains sixth place with 13-7 record. Defending champion Real Madrid still keeps top position with four games lost. Unicaja Malaga will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Real Madrid will play at home against Gran Canaria and is hoping to win this game.
