Regular Season Round 21: Alvik Basket - Telge 42-62

The game between third ranked Alvik Basket (13-9) and eighth ranked Telge (8-13) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Alvik Basket was crushed by Telge in Stockholm 62-42. The game was mostly controlled by Telge. Alvik Basket managed to win fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alvik Basket to just 7 points in third quarter. Telge held Alvik Basket to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.3 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Tayler Mingo (170-92, college: Wright St.) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Telge's coach Viktor Bengtsson used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and international point guard Klara Lundquist (171-99) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Telge maintains eighth place with 8-13 record. Alvik Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Telge are looking forward to face higher ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alvik Basket will play against Sallen in Uppsala and is hoping to win this game.
