Regular Season Round 19: JAC Sants - Menorca 73-66

There was a surprise result in Barcelona where tenth ranked JAC Sants (7-9) defeated 3rd placed Menorca (11-5) 73-66 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Menorca won third quarter 26-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JAC Sants dominated on the defensive end, holding Menorca to just 6 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for forward Oscar Gonzalez (200-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Pau Truno (176-98) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Jorge Jimenez (182-81) responded with 22 points and point guard Daniel Garcia-Tora (192-79) scored 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. JAC Sants moved-up to eighth place in Group C-A, which they share with Santfeliuenc and Castellbisbal. Newly promoted Menorca keeps the third position with five games lost. JAC Sants will face Olivar (#14) in Zaragoza in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Menorca will play at home against Santfeliuenc (#10) and hope to win that game.
