Regular Season Round 38: Toyotsu FE - Aomori Watts 82-93

Top ranked Toyotsu FE (26-10) recorded its tenth loss in Nagoya on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Aomori Watts (16-20) 93-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyotsu FE. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. 26 personal fouls committed by Toyotsu FE helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Daichi Shimoyama (181-89) who scored 26 points. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Aomori Watts' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and forward Shohei Kozu (191-87) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Aomori Watts maintains fourth position with 16-20 record, which they share with Ehime OV. Toyotsu FE at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. Aomori Watts is looking forward to face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Toyotsu FE will play on the road against Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba and is hoping to win this game.
