Regular Season Round 18: Oostende - Kangoeroes 49-86

Date: February 12, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked KB D-Glas (3-13) were outscored by fifth ranked Kangoeroes (11-3) in Oostende 86-49 on Sunday. Kangoeroes dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to KB D-Glas' 26 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded KB D-Glas 51-32 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kangoeroes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by KB D-Glas' players. It was a good game for American center Vicky McIntyre (201-92, college: ORU, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Xynthia Smeets (180-90) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Canadian Melissa Rondinelli (184-92) replied with 8 points and 7 rebounds and forward Delphine De-Cock (180-96) added 11 points in the effort for KB D-Glas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kangoeroes have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 11-3 record. KB D-Glas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Kangoeroes are looking forward to face league's second-placed Belfius Namur on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KB D-Glas will play against Sint Kateline Waver (#4) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
