Regular Season Round 19: Zarautz Ulacia - Valle de Egues 72-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Valle de Egues (7-9) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked Zarautz Ulacia (5-11) 72-70 on Sunday. Valle de Egues cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Zarautz Ulacia made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Estanislao Andres (185-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Point guard Jon Saez (182-90) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side Javier Valderrey responded with 21 points and Ivorian power forward Kouassi Konan (204-91) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Valle de Egues players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zarautz Ulacia maintains twelfth place in Group A-A with 5-11 record. Newly promoted Valle de Egues keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Zarautz Ulacia will face Univ.Burgos (#13) on the road in the next round.
