Regular Season Round 21: Jesi - Piacenza 75-61

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Piacenza (10-10) lost on the road to ninth ranked Jesi (11-10) 75-61 on Sunday. Jesi outrebounded Piacenza 47-22 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American point guard Timothy Bowers (188-82, college: Mississippi St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Jesi's coach Damiano Cagnazzo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Luca Infante (204-82) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Serbian swingman Nemanja Dincic (203-98) added 15 points in the effort for Piacenza. Jesi moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Piacenza dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Jesi will face higher ranked F.Kontatto BO (#6) in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piacenza will play at home against Ravenna and hope to win that game.
