Regular Season Round 27: Al Arabi - Al Shamal 80-75

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#4) and Al Shamal (#8). Al Arabi (10-5) won against visiting Al Shamal (4-11) 80-75. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Al Arabi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American power forward Manny Adako (203-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman) helped adding 21 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Reggie Hamilton (182-89, college: Oakland, agency: Octagon Europe) with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian-South Sudanese forward Deng Deng (203-92, college: Baylor) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Five Al Shamal players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Al Arabi. They maintain fourth place with 10-5 record. Al Shamal at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Al Arabi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Ahli.
