Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Monteroni (3-17) was defeated at home by fourth ranked San Severo (14-6) 84-73 on Sunday. San Severo dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Monteroni's 34. San Severo forced 27 Monteroni turnovers. Strangely Monteroni outrebounded San Severo 37-19 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Iris Ikangi (200-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Leonardo Ciribeni (190-92) who added 14 points and 4 steals during the contest. Five San Severo players scored in double figures. San Severo's coach Piero Coen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bosnian point guard Amar Balic (178-96, agency: Interperformances) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. San Severo maintains fourth position in B with 14-6 record, which they share with Cento. Loser Monteroni dropped to the sixteenth place with 17 games lost. San Severo will face Giulianova (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Monteroni will play against Campli (#6) and hope to win that game.
