Regular Season Round 18: AZS UMCS - CCC Polkowice 54-66

The biggest surprise of round 18 was guest CCC Polkowice's (11-7) road victory over 6th ranked AZS UMCS (10-8) 66-54 on Sunday evening. CCC Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to AZS UMCS's 26. They outrebounded AZS UMCS 45-32 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Isabelle Harrison (190-93, college: Tennessee) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import point guard Jamierra Faulkner (168-92, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. CCC Polkowice's coach Maros Kovacik used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian forward Tess Madgen (180-90) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. CCC Polkowice moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Artego Bydg. AZS UMCS at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. CCC Polkowice is looking forward to face league's leader Sleza Wroclaw at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS UMCS will play against Widzew (#11) in Lodz and is hoping to win this game.
