Regular Season Round 17: Tarbes - Bourges 66-83

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Tarbes (4-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Bourges (10-7) 83-66. The game was mostly controlled by Bourges. Tarbes was better in third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tarbes' 36 and made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Bourges players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Brazilian center Clarissa Dos Santos (184-88) nailed 28 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Senegalese point guard Bintou Dieme-Marizy (164-84) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for Tarbes in the defeat. Four Tarbes players scored in double figures. Bourges moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mondeville. Newly promoted Tarbes keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Bourges' next round opponent will be Lyon (#11) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Tarbes will play against the league's leader Lattes Montpellier and hope to win that game.
