Second Stage Round 1: Basket Esch - Musel Pikes 79-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Esch. host Basket Esch (12-3) defeated Musel Pikes (10-5) 79-68. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Basket Esch made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Marshae Dotson (180-87, college: Florida) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Andrea Haris (168-78) accounted for 17 points and 7 assists. American Shalonda Winton (180-91, college: Cleveland St.) came up with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Akilah Bethel (183-93, college: LSU) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Musel Pikes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basket Esch will play against Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Musel Pikes will play at home against Etzella and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
