Regular Season Round 17: Maccabi Ashdod - Ramat Hasharon 77-70

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ashdod. Second ranked Maccabi Ashdod faced 4th placed Ramat Hasharon. Host Maccabi Ashdod (13-2) defeated guests from Hasharon (7-7) 77-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Ashdod forced 19 Ramat Hasharon turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Power forward Bashaara Graves (188-94, college: Tennessee) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Cierra Burdick (188-93, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Maccabi R.Gan. Ramat Hasharon at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Maccabi Ashdod is looking forward to face Hap.Petah Tikva (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ramat Hasharon will play against Elitzur Holon (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
