Second Stage Round 9: Olimpia - Tsmoki-Minsk 55-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Grodno. Second-best host Olimpia GrGAU (12-4) lost to third ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (13-4) 68-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olimpia GrGAU. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Olimpia GrGAU was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki-Minsk dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia GrGAU's 26. Forward Ekateryna Rybalka (182-98) nailed 17 points for the winning side and the former international center Viktoriya Hasper (193-88) accounted for 12 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Olga Kopylova (187-82) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Natallia Dashkevich (188-88) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Olimpia GrGAU in the defeat. Olimpia GrGAU's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tsmoki-Minsk moved-up to second place. Olimpia GrGAU at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk will play against Sozh-GGU (#4) in Gomel in the next round. Olimpia GrGAU will play on the road against the league's leader Gorizont in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
