Not a big story in a game in Riga where 19th ranked Jekabpils II (3-10) was rolled over by fifteenth ranked VEF skola (8-4) 98-71 on Tuesday. The game without a history. VEF skola led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Jekabpils II's 26. VEF skola forced 19 Jekabpils II turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Nikolajs Zotovs (182-98) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Oskars Hlebovickis (197-0) who added 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four VEF skola players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Matiss Kolesinskis (190-99) with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Edijs Stiebrins (190-96) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. VEF skola have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with DSN/SB. Jekabpils II lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with ten games lost. VEF skola's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena .
