Regular Season Round 33: Instituto - Quimsa 78-93

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Instituto (21-13) against fifth ranked Quimsa (18-14) on Tuesday night. Host Instituto was defeated by Quimsa in Cordoba 93-78. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Instituto. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-78. Quimsa shot 65.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Quimsa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Aaron Harper (203-81, college: Mississippi) who scored 22 points. The former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Quimsa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC, agency: DTMones) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) added 23 points respectively. Quimsa have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 18-14 record. Loser Instituto keeps the third position with 13 games lost. Quimsa will meet at home La Union (#8) in the next round. Instituto will play against the league's second-placed Ferrocarril (#2) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
