Very expected game when 11th ranked Alcobendas (8-10) was defeated at home by third ranked Real Madrid II (14-5) 75-60 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-60. Real Madrid II outrebounded Alcobendas 48-22 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. FYR Macedonian-Montenegrin forward Dino Radoncic (202-99) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side forward Alejandro Fortes (201-90) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Carlos Arjonilla (178-78) scored 9 points and 6 assists. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Real Madrid II. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Casvi. Alcobendas lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Real Madrid II will face La Roda (#5) at home in the next round. Alcobendas will play against Tenerife Naut. (#6) in Santa Cruz and hope to win that game.
