Regular Season Round 24: AZS UMK Torun - Suchy Las 62-64

There was an upset when higher ranked AZS UMK Torun (13-8) was edged at home by eleventh ranked Suchy Las (5-17) 64-62 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Jakub Simon (202-96) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Maciej Leszczynski (189-99) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Patryk Derkowski (189-84) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Suchy Las maintains eleventh position with 5-17 record, which they share with Otmuchow. Loser AZS UMK Torun dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Suchy Las will face league's leader Pelplin in Pelpin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. AZS UMK Torun will play on the road against the league's leader Pelplin (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
