Regular Season Round 19: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Galil Gilboa 73-79

Date: February 15, 2017
An interesting game took place in Hod Hasharon where 4th placed Bnei Hasharon (11-7) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (8-11) 79-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bnei Hasharon. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 Bnei Hasharon's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-73 at the end of the game. Galil Gilboa forced 21 Bnei Hasharon turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Bnei Hasharon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. International forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St., agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 9 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Galil Gilboa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Galil Gilboa's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (#12) in Kiryat Gat. Bnei Hasharon will play on the road against the league's leader Maccabi T-A (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
