Regular Season Round 18: AGOR - AEK Athens 72-65

The most important game in the last round took place in Rethymno between third ranked AEK Athens (14-4) and eighth ranked AGOR (8-10) on Wednesday night. AEK Athens was defeated by AGOR in a tough game on the road 65-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of AEK Athens. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Gary Talton (185-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) contributed with 8 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis, agency: Diamond Sports) replied with 16 points and naturalized Serbian Dusan Sakota (210-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points in the effort for AEK Athens. AGOR moved-up to seventh place. AEK Athens at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. AGOR are looking forward to face Aiolos Trikallon (#10) on the road in the next round. AEK Athens will play against PAOK (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
